My career in the health and fitness industry started almost 20 years ago when I went to college to become a Dietary Technologist. My education in this field exposed me to many topics including Human Physiology, diet writing, medical diet planning and food preparation. After college I worked many years in the health care sector writing diets for patients with a wide range of medical conditions. Several years later I decided to branch out into the fitness industry and became a Certified Fitness Trainer and a Certified Specialist in Fitness Nutrition. I competed in several Fitness Competitions and took home 1st place on a few occasions. From there, I appeared twice in Oxygen Magazine, started writing fitness related articles for UMM's on-line magazine site. My love and passion for health and fitness led me to develop several fitness worthy recipes and to write my very own Fitness Recipe book!
I have three little kids, a gym and a very busy schedule so it was important to me to find healthy ways to feed my family that didn't consume too many hours of my day. I wanted to take all the things that I try (it doesn't always happen) to incorporate in our home and put them together in an easy to follow book to share with others. I really feel my approach to a healthy lifestyle works for the whole family. What I have to share is not a diet and doesn't require counting calories or cutting fat out of your diet....it doesn't include any bizarre or unrealistic methods.... it's all about boosting your metabolism through the foods you eat and learning how to fuel your body properly so you can get and stay lean for life.
